The Linen Layer is made from 100% pure European flax linen — a fiber with natural moisture-wicking and temperature-regulating properties that keep your sleep surface 3–4°F cooler than standard cotton equivalents. In summer, it breathes. In winter, its natural insulation retains warmth without creating a heat trap.

THE SCIENCE
Sleep onset requires peripheral vasodilation — heat leaving the body through the hands, feet, and face — which triggers the core body temperature drop needed to initiate sleep. Bedsheets that trap heat against the body impede this process, delaying sleep onset and reducing time spent in slow-wave sleep. Linen's fiber structure (hollow tubes with natural wicking channels) facilitates heat and moisture transfer away from the body at a rate approximately 3× that of standard cotton, directly supporting the thermoregulatory process required for deep sleep onset and maintenance.
