The Jaw Anchor
When tape alone isn't enough.
For habitual mouth breathers, tape is the first line of defence. But some people — especially those with larger jaw openings or lower facial muscle tone at rest — need additional support to maintain jaw closure through the night.
The Jaw Anchor provides gentle, adjustable mandibular support without restricting breathing or causing discomfort. Made from breathable neoprene with an adjustable velcro fastening, it holds the jaw in a neutral closed position — preventing mouth breathing relapse in the second half of the night when sleep is deepest and muscle tone is at its lowest.
Use it alongside Nasal Protocol Tape as your complete breathing protocol.
THE SCIENCE
During deep sleep (slow-wave sleep), skeletal muscle tone decreases significantly — including the masseter and digastric muscles that keep the jaw closed. This is when mouth breathing most commonly begins, even in people who start the night as nasal breathers. Mandibular support counteracts this by providing passive jaw closure that doesn't rely on active muscle tension, ensuring nasal breathing is maintained through all four sleep stages.
